Adventure travel partnership announced

A NEW AGREEMENT BETWEEN World Expeditions travel company and Adventure South will bring more adventure travel opportunities to Australians.

Adventure travel partnership announcedAfter a 10-year partnership with Adventure South, World Expeditions announced on October 5 that they have purchased 51 per cent of the New Zealand-based company. Since teaming up, the companies plan to expand business in New Zealand while maintaining shared values and desires to use sustainable travel.

Adventure travel partnership announced"We believe that Australians have a thirst for adventure product in New Zealand as its short haul, inexpensive to get there and offers a completely different travel experience to Australia," says World Expeditions CEO Sue Badyari. "Consistent feedback from our travellers indicates that they are looking for innovation and new opportunities to explore NZ and that is the niche that the Adventure South holidays fill. There really is nothing like this range of products anywhere in the market."

World Expeditions began as a Himalayan trekking company in 1975 and was one of the world's original companies specialising in adventure travel. The company sets holidays to Asia, South, Central and North America, Africa, Europe, Antarctica, and Australia.

Adventure South, established in 1992, leads cycling, trekking and adventure tours throughout New Zealand. The company takes pride in its experienced tour guides and original itineraries with unmatched geographic coverage.

Beginning this week, Adventure South will launch in Australia with a reorganised web page and a brochure featuring 26 affordable adventure trips.

"Adventure South has a range of fantastic itineraries that are closely aligned to the World Expeditions philosophies of sustainable and responsible travel and we are now keen to let more people know about the product here in Australia to see more travellers crossing the Tasman to experience our innovative walking, cycling, climbing and kayaking itineraries," says Badyari.
